Welcome to the new Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College website. Thamarrurr is the Murrinhpatha word for “people coming together”. Our website aims to celebrate our school - its students, staff, the community and Aboriginal culture that underpins student learning and inherent sense of purpose.
Just like the Woolybutt Tree, our students, staff and community are beautiful and resilient. Despite the many challenges faced by our community, we aim for school to be a safe and welcoming place for teaching and learning.
This year we officially became the fourteenth Learning on Country School in the Northern Territory, and we look forward to the unfolding opportunities that will strengthen our student learning and support their capacity to “walk in two worlds’.
Our school was founded by the Daughters of the Sacred Heart and our motto is “may the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved, forever”. In our everyday interactions with students and the wider community we strive to be “the Heart of God in the World Today”.
